Issued on 2 November 2022 to mark both Algeria's 60th anniversary of independence from France and the hosting of the 31st Ordinary Session of the Arab League in Algiers, this 2,000-dinar note is the highest denomination issued by the Banque d'Algerie. The obverse features the Monument aux Martyrs in Algiers, a map of the Arab world, the Algerian flag, and a portrait of Emir Abdelkader as a watermark figure, alongside imagery evoking the national liberation movement. The reverse showcases the minaret of Djamaa el Djazair (Great Mosque of Algiers), the natural stone arch of Tassili N'Ajjer National Park, the Hoggar mountains, a camel caravan, and Roman ruins at Tipaza.
