2.000 Kwanzas

Also belonging to the BNA's 2020 series, the 2,000 kwanza note was reprinted in 2023 with strengthened security, including a security thread now interlaced through the substrate rather than superimposed. Printed on polymer, the green note bears two transparent windows: one containing a representation of the 'Thinker' figure visible from both sides, and a second shaped like the traditional Angolan musical instrument Omakola. The reverse celebrates the Serra da Leba, a dramatic mountain pass renowned as one of Angola's most iconic natural landmarks.
