Issued in 2023, this yellow paper note (155 x 65 mm) commemorates one of the most celebrated military achievements in South American independence history — San Martín's crossing of the Andes to liberate Chile. The obverse bears a portrait of San Martín alongside flames rendered in OVI, while the reverse scene shows the Andean crossing with the date 17.01.1817 and the Argentine coat of arms. It forms part of the new family of Argentine banknotes introduced to accommodate the country's high inflation environment.
