200 Taka
Bangladesh Bank issued a commemorative 200 taka note on March 18, 2020, to honor the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920-2020), the founding father and first president of Bangladesh. Though commemorative, the note is legal tender for all domestic transactions. The obverse features a prominent portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with electrotype denomination '200' and the Bangladesh Bank coat of arms. At the top, 'Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Centenary 1920-2020' is inscribed, with 'Birth Centenary' printed at the left corner. The reverse displays another portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman against a background showing farmers on the riverbank, reflecting his commitment to agrarian development. The note measures 146 x 63 millimeters and represents Bangladesh's first 200 taka denomination.
