The Bangladesh 5 Taka note, introduced in 2026 as part of the 'Historical & Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh' series, features a predominant pink coloration. The front prominently displays the Star Mosque (Tara Masjid), a historic 19th-century architectural monument located in the Armanitola area of Dhaka, renowned for its ornate blue-star decorative motifs. The design includes the national flower, the water lily (Shapla), rendered with its leaves and buds. The reverse displays imagery of students during the July 2024 uprising. This series represents a significant redesign following Bangladesh's political transition in 2024, notably removing the long-standing portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The note measures 117 mm × 60 mm and incorporates modern security features including a composite watermark featuring a Royal Bengal Tiger, a bright electrotype numeral '5', and the Bangladesh Bank monogram. A 2 mm windowed security thread runs vertically on the left side, visible from both sides when held to light. Microprint technology featuring repetitions of the word 'BANGLADESH' appears in a curved guilloche pattern on the lower front section.
