The 5 taka note, redesigned in 2016, features a portrait of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation and founding father of Bangladesh, positioned at the left of the obverse. The National Martyrs' Monument in Savar is depicted in light color at the center. At 117 x 60 mm, it is Bangladesh's smallest banknote. The reverse showcases the historic Naogaon Kusumba mosque, representing Bangladesh's architectural heritage, alongside the national coat of arms with symbolic elements: the shapla flower (national flower), rice, and jute (economic mainstays). The note is printed in purple and includes security features to prevent counterfeiting.
