The Central Bank of Barbados issued the $10 note in December 2022 as part of its historic polymer banknote series. The note honors Charles Duncan O'Neal (1879–1936), one of Barbados's 10 National Heroes, who agitated against racism and for the rights of the underprivileged. He founded the Democratic League in 1924 and is remembered as a champion of social justice. The reverse features the iconic Charles Duncan O'Neal Bridge, an architectural landmark spanning the Careenage in Bridgetown. The note includes enhanced security features and a unique tactile X-shaped emboss for visually impaired users. All six denomination notes in this series create a map of Barbados when arranged sequentially.
