2 Dollars
Belize · Central Bank of Belize
The Central Bank of Belize revealed its new banknote family on 23 January 2025, with the series entering circulation on 4 August 2025. The redesigned $2 note is the first Belizean currency not to feature a British monarch as its primary portrait, replacing Queen Elizabeth II with Hon. Philip Stanley Wilberforce Goldson — the longest-serving member of the Belize House of Representatives, the first Leader of the Opposition, and the first Belizean statesman to address the United Nations. Goldson was posthumously awarded the Order of the National Hero. The obverse also displays the national coat of arms and an image of Antelope Falls at Mayflower Bocawina National Park; the reverse shows Sapodilla Falls at Elijio Panti National Park.
