Belize 5 Dollars

The redesigned Belize $5 note, unveiled on 23 January 2025 and entering circulation on 4 August 2025, honors Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price — Belize's first Prime Minister, founder of the People's United Party, and recipient of the Order of the National Hero. Price led Belize to independence in 1981. The red-toned note (140 × 70 mm) displays Price's portrait alongside the national coat of arms and the National Assembly building at Independence Plaza in Belmopan on the obverse. The reverse depicts the Belize City Peninsula and Haulover Creek, the Supreme Court building, and Saint John's Cathedral, the oldest Anglican church in Central America.
