20 Pula
First circulated on August 23, 2009, this 20 Pula note honors Dr. Kgalemang Tumedisco Motsete, whose composition of 'Fatshe Leno La Rona' (Our Land) became Botswana's national anthem. Measuring 138 × 69 mm, the note features Botswana's coat of arms with rearing zebras on the obverse. The reverse celebrates the Orapa diamond mine, one of Botswana's first major mining installations, alongside a roan antelope representing the nation's wildlife. Security includes a 12mm holographic stripe featuring the coat of arms and a color-switching kingfisher image, a StarChrome red-to-green windowed security thread with demetalized 'BOB 20' text, and raised embossing on the denomination for tactile identification. Two edge dots assist visually impaired users.
