Scheduled for circulation in the first half of 2026, this 1 Brunei Dollar note is part of the new GUARDIAN™ polymer series announced on September 22, 2025. The denomination presents Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah alongside the bunga simpur (Dillenia suffruticosa), Brunei's national flower. The obverse also features the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque and the Mahligai (royal ceremonial barge), iconic symbols of Brunei's Islamic heritage. The GUARDIAN™ polymer substrate provides enhanced durability and waterproofing. DOMINO™ tactile marks—raised dots in a unique arrangement for this denomination—enable visually impaired users to identify the note.
