The 200 Riel note was introduced on 14 November 2022 as a re-introduction of a denomination absent from Cambodian circulation since the 1992–93 series. The note is part of a broader update to Cambodia's banknote family alongside a companion 2,000 Riel note. Printed on cotton-paper fibre by De La Rue and measuring 138 x 64 mm, it features King Norodom Sihamoni — Cambodia's reigning monarch since 2004 — in a youthful portrait on the obverse. The Moonlight Pavilion (Chan Chhaya) is a celebrated colonial-era structure within the Royal Palace compound in Phnom Penh, used for classical dance performances and official ceremonies.
