Cayman Islands 25 Dollars

The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) issued commemorative $25 and $50 banknotes in early January 2023 (with a printed date of 2022) to celebrate its 25th anniversary of operation. CIMA was established under the Monetary Authority Law in 1997. The $25 note retains the established design of the current D-series banknote — including Queen Elizabeth II's portrait — augmented by a special holographic foil patch bearing the CIMA 25th Anniversary logo positioned to the left of the Queen's portrait. The notes were released to banks shortly before Queen Elizabeth II's death in September 2022 but did not enter wide general circulation, as the series is expected to be updated with King Charles III's portrait.
