The 2,000 Chilean Peso note is printed on polymer substrate by Note Printing Australia and has been in circulation since 2009 as part of Chile's polymer banknote family. The 2021-dated emission is a re-issue of the established design. Manuel Rodriguez Erdoiza (1785–1818) was a guerrilla leader and lawyer widely regarded as one of the founding heroes of Chilean independence from Spanish colonial rule. The reverse highlights Chile's biodiversity: the Choroy parrot (Enicognathus leptorhynchus) is endemic to Chilean southern forests.
