On 30 March 2022, the Czech National Bank placed into circulation its second commemorative 100-koruna banknote, part of a trilogy under the unifying theme 'Building the Czechoslovak Currency'. The note honours Karel Engliš (1880–1961), the pre-eminent economist of the First Czechoslovak Republic, who as Finance Minister and later National Bank governor stabilised the koruna, managed exchange rates for two decades, and carried out comprehensive tax reform. The note was designed by academic painter Eva Hašková and printed by Státní tiskárna cenin in Prague; only 20,000 notes were produced.
