Egypt 20 Pounds

The Central Bank of Egypt issued its 20 Pounds polymer note in June 2023, extending the country's polymer migration that began with the 10 Pounds note. The green polymer note (137 x 69 mm) bears the signature of Governor Hassan Abdullah and features the Mohamed Ali Mosque — also known as the Alabaster Mosque — atop Cairo's Citadel on the obverse, while the reverse depicts Queen Cleopatra's statue, the Great Pyramids, and a Pharaonic military chariot. The design intentionally juxtaposes Egypt's Islamic heritage with its ancient civilisation.
