Falkland Islands 20 Pounds

The £20 polymer note completed the new Falkland Islands Charles III family launched on 14 August 2025 (Falklands Day). Printed by De La Rue on SAFEGUARD® polymer, the brown-coloured note carries the standard obverse design: King Charles III portrait, the Falkland Islands outline, coat of arms, and local wildlife. The reverse shows Steeple Jason Island and five penguin species native to the islands. The series marks the first note redesign in more than 40 years and transitions royal portraiture from Queen Elizabeth II to Charles III. The old paper notes remain legal tender but are scheduled for withdrawal in 2026. Security features include the polymer substrate, transparent penguin window, iridescent ink, UV/infrared printing, and tactile embossed dots.
