The Government of the Falkland Islands issued its £5 polymer note on Falklands Day, 14 August 2025 — the first major redesign in over 40 years and the first series to feature King Charles III. Produced by De La Rue on SAFEGUARD® polymer substrate, the red-coloured note shows Charles III on the obverse alongside black-browed albatrosses and a king penguin, with the Falkland Islands outline and coat of arms. The reverse highlights the islands' wildlife, depicting five penguin species, the national flower pale maiden, and Steeple Jason Island. Security features include a transparent king penguin window with iridescent ink, ultraviolet and infrared inks, and embossed tactile dots for visually impaired users.
