The Fiji 5 dollar note features the Kulawai (red-throated lorikeet), a critically endangered endemic bird that inhabits the mountain forest canopy. Issued January 2, 2026, this green polymer note measures 136 × 67 mm and represents Fiji's complete transition to polymer currency. The reverse depicts the Vonu Dina (green turtle), an endangered species found in Fijian waters.

As the lowest denomination in the new Flora and Fauna series, the $5 retains familiar flora design elements on the front while introducing new wildlife imagery on the back. All banknotes in the series incorporate MOTION SURFACE® micro-optic security technology, along with tactile features for visually impaired users and transparent windows with G SWITCH™ color-shifting effects.
