The Fiji 50 dollar note features the Tagimoucia (Medinilla waterhousei), Fiji's most distinctive flowering plant known for its striking scarlet and white blossoms, endemic to the highland forests of Taveuni Island above 600 meters. Issued January 2, 2026, this orange polymer note measures 151 × 67 mm and was printed by Crane Currency.
The reverse depicts a Girmitiya woman and the Leonidas vessel, paying tribute to the indentured laborers who arrived in Fiji and their maritime heritage. The banknote features MOTION SURFACE® micro-optic security technology and transparent windows with G SWITCH™ color-shifting effects.
