The King Charles III £10 note was unveiled alongside the other denominations on 20 December 2022 and entered circulation on 5 June 2024. Its reverse is carried over unchanged from the Elizabeth II series: it depicts a portrait of Jane Austen, a writing quill, an image of Godmersham Park in Kent (believed to have inspired her novels), a view of Winchester Cathedral where she was buried in 1817, and her celebrated Pride and Prejudice quote. A copper foil patch bearing her initials 'JA' and a colour-changing quill (purple to orange) are among its distinctive features.
