Catalogued separately as the 'Elizabeth II (Posthumous; Vertical hologram)' variant, this £20 note differs from the standard 2023 issue in its principal holographic security element: it incorporates a vertically oriented hologram strip in place of the NEXUS magenta embedded stripe. The note was produced in 2023 following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, making it one of the final issues carrying her effigy on Guernsey currency before the transition to a new sovereign's portrait. The reverse design — St. Sampson's Church, Vale Castle, and small sailing vessels — is unchanged from the regular 2023 issue.
