5.000 Dollars
Guyana · Bank of Guyana
On 20 December 2022, the Bank of Guyana introduced an upgraded version of the 5,000 Dollar banknote (B122a) as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and deter counterfeiting. Printed by Oberthur Fiduciaire, the note retains its overall visual identity but replaces the earlier DualTrack thread and holographic stripe with a new 5 mm wide Pulsar color-shifting security thread and a SPARK Live Truspin feature around the jaguar motif. The hoatzin, Guyana's national bird, continues to dominate the reverse scene set within the country's lush Amazonian interior.
