Guyana 500 Dollars

First issued in 2011 as part of the modern Guyanese currency series, the 500 dollar note celebrates Guyana's natural wealth and democratic heritage. The parrot imagery reflects the country's diverse wildlife and rainforest ecosystem, while the Parliament Building represents the foundation of Guyanese governance. The 2024 upgrade replaced the holographic stripe with the advanced Rolling Star® Lead Pure security foil, incorporating a colorful Macaw that demonstrates dynamic security properties when the note is tilted.
