Signed by Governor Mohammad Reza Farzin (who took office in December 2022), this 1,000,000-rial note — equivalent to 100 Tomans — was issued in 2023 as part of Iran's continuing series of ultra-high-denomination Iran Cheques made necessary by decades of inflationary pressure on the rial. The predominantly blue note is printed on cotton-fibre paper measuring 157 x 71 mm by the Central Bank's Banknote Printing and Minting Organisation (Takab). The watermark reproduces the entrance gate of the Fatima Masumeh Shrine alongside an electrotype 100, reinforcing the obverse's focus on Shia pilgrimage heritage.
