The 50 New Shekel note is part of the Bank of Israel's Series C banknotes, first introduced in 2014 and reissued with the 2022 date. The note honors Shaul Tchernichovsky (1875–1943), one of the foremost Hebrew poets of the early Zionist era, known for blending Hellenic and Hebrew literary traditions. His poem 'Oh My Land, My Homeland' is reproduced in microtext on the obverse, while the Corinthian column on the reverse alludes to his landmark translations of Homer's Iliad and Odyssey into Hebrew. The green note bears the signature of Bank of Israel Governor Prof. Amir Yaron.
