The Jordan 1 dinar banknote bearing the 2021 (AH1442) date is the final printing of the fourth series (2002–2021), which was the first issue to carry the portrait of King Abdullah II. The fourth series remained in circulation for approximately twenty years until the fifth series launched in late 2022. The 1 dinar denomination honors the legacy of the Great Arab Revolt of 1916, the Hashemite-led uprising against Ottoman rule that shaped the modern Arab world.
