The Jordan 10 dinars banknote with the 2021 date represents a late printing of the fourth series, which was introduced in 2002 as the first series to carry a portrait of King Abdullah II. The fourth series remained in circulation until gradually replaced by the fifth series beginning in late 2022. The 10 dinar denomination links Jordanian identity to its ancient Roman heritage in Amman and the medieval Crusader-era Ajloun Castle.
