The blue 100 som note (dated 2023, circulated from 15 February 2024) commemorates Toktogul Satylganov (1864-1933), the most famous of the Kyrgyz akyns — improvising poet-singers — whose portrait appears on the obverse alongside an ornament in colour-shifting gold-to-jade optically variable ink. The reverse depicts the cascade of Toktogul hydroelectric power stations, one of Central Asia's most important energy installations, set against Kyrgyzstan's mountain peaks. The note measures 132 x 63 mm and was printed by Crane Currency.
