The 5,000 Som banknote was introduced as part of Kyrgyzstan's fifth currency series modernization and entered circulation on May 10, 2024. The obverse features Suymenkul Chokmorov (1939-1992), a celebrated Kyrgyz actor and artist, with the inscription on the obverse. The reverse depicts the iconic Ala-Too Theater, a symbol of Kyrgyz cultural heritage. Measuring 156 x 73 mm on white paper, this denomination represents the highest value note in the new series.
