The orange 50 som note (dated 2023, circulated from 15 February 2024) honours Kurmanjan Datka (1811-1907), a revered Kyrgyz politician and leader known as the Tsaritsa Alai, whose portrait dominates the obverse. The reverse showcases the Uzgen architectural complex, comprising an 11th-century minaret and mausoleum, framed by mountain scenery. The note measures 126 x 61 mm, was printed by Crane Currency, and earned recognition at the High Security Printing Asia awards for 2023.
