The reverse depicts a traditional Lesotho shepherd tending his flock of sheep on a mountain landscape with stylized palm tree design, celebrating shepherding as integral to Basotho cultural and economic traditions. The note incorporates the RollingStar dynamic security thread featuring advanced color-shifting properties and brilliant light effects responding to viewer angle and movement. Additional sophisticated security elements include a watermark of King Moshoeshoe I in formal attire, tactile parallel lines for accessibility to visually impaired users, the Mokorotlo registration device, and SICPA Protect anti-bacterial and anti-viral varnish coating. Produced by De La Rue using ADDvance hybrid sustainable substrate, the 100 Maloti represents a higher denomination with correspondingly enhanced security measures within Lesotho's 2021 redesigned series.
