This red, orange, and green commemorative note, dated 1 January 2022, was issued by Banco Nacional Ultramarino (National Overseas Bank) to mark the Chinese Year of the Tiger. Under Decree 30/2011, both BNU and the Bank of China (Macau) were authorised to issue up to 20 million commemorative 10-pataca notes per year from 2012 to 2023, one for each animal of the Chinese zodiac cycle. The 2022 note measures 138 mm x 69 mm and was printed by Hong Kong Note Printing Limited. A parallel version with the same Year of the Tiger design was simultaneously issued by Banco da China (Bank of China Macau).
