Maldives 100 Rufiyaa

The Maldives Monetary Authority issued this 100-rufiyaa polymer note (catalog B227b) bearing the date 31 July 2025 and the signature of Governor Ahmed Munawar. It is a signature-and-date update to the existing polymer family first introduced in January 2025. The obverse depicts a seated woman in traditional Libaas dress performing Hiru — the intricate neckline-threading craft — capturing Maldivian artisanal heritage. The reverse shows the Dambidu Lomafanu, an early Dhivehi palm-leaf scripture. The note is printed on De La Rue Safeguard polymer substrate and retains the full prior security architecture.
