The 100 Rupees banknote features Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam KCMG (1900-1985), known as the 'Father of the Nation' and Mauritius' first Prime Minister, prominently displayed at the left. The design incorporates the Mauritius Coat of Arms at lower left, classical facades of the old Bank of Mauritius building in the underprint, and a figure of Blindfolded Lady Justice holding balance scales and a sword. The banknote includes tri-lingual text in English, Hindi, and Tamil, and incorporates imagery of a dodo bird head.
