The Banco de México 1,000-peso Series G banknote (Pick B718, predominantly grey, 153 × 65 mm, cotton substrate) was originally introduced into circulation on 19 November 2020 to commemorate the centenary of the Mexican Revolution of 1910. It is the first Mexican banknote to feature three portrait subjects simultaneously: feminist and revolutionary journalist Hermila Galindo, political activist Carmen Serdán, and President Francisco I. Madero, accompanied by an engraving of a locomotive. The reverse depicts the UNESCO-recognised natural and cultural heritage site of Calakmul in Campeche. Security features include RAPID® micro-optic thread with kinetic 3D effects, Sparklive® optically variable numerals, intaglio printing, and Multicode® thread.
