Banco de México put the commemorative 100-peso Series G into circulation on 25 August 2025 to mark the central bank's centenary (1925–2025). The note is an overprinted variant of the existing polymer 100-peso bill with the addition of '100 Aniversario / 1925–2025' beneath the Banco de México monogram on the obverse. The front portrays Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, the most celebrated poet and writer of New Hispanic literature, alongside the main courtyard of the Antiguo Colegio de San Ildefonso in Mexico City's Historic Centre. The red vertical note measures 132 × 65 mm. The reverse depicts pine, oak, and oyamel trees of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
