Mexico 200 Pesos

Banco de México issued a commemorative 200 peso banknote on March 12, 2025, bearing the legend "100 Aniversario 1925-2025" to celebrate the bank's centennial. The obverse features prominent portraits of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla and José María Morelos y Pavón, heroes of Mexican Independence, accompanied by the symbolic Bell of Dolores (Campana de Dolores). The reverse displays a majestic golden eagle in flight over the landscape of El Pinacate Biosphere Reserve and the Great Desert of Altar in Sonora, representing Mexico's diverse ecosystems.

This commemorative variant maintains the same dimensions and colour scheme as the standard G-series 200 peso note (predominantly green on a cotton substrate) while adding the centennial overprint legend below the Banco de México monogram on the obverse. The note entered circulation in March 2025 as legal tender and coexists with regular banknotes of the same denomination.
