100.000 Tögrög

The Mongolbank 100,000 Tögrög commemorative banknote was issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the People's Revolution, originally dated 2021 on the lower left of the reverse. Due to printing delays, the notes were officially introduced in December 2025, at which time they were overprinted with a red stamp on the lower center reverse reading "2025-12-09" to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the tögrög currency itself, which was introduced into circulation on 9 December 1925. This dual commemorative purpose unites Mongolia's political independence and monetary heritage.

The front of the note features Genghis Khan (Chinggis Khaan) as the primary portrait, along with the Soyombo national symbol and mountainous landscape imagery representing Mongolia's terrain and natural heritage. A warrior on horseback serves as a registration device. The reverse displays portraits of the First Seven leaders of the People's Revolution: Damdin Sukhbaatar, Dogsom Bodoo, Soli Danzan, Dansranbileg Dogsom, Darzav Losol, Damby Chagdarjav, and Khorloo Choibalsan. A map of Mongolia and silhouette of a warrior on horseback appear as additional design elements, rendered in orange, brown, red, and blue colors.

This commemorative issue marks a significant moment in Mongolia's financial history, bridging the centennial of its 1921 revolution with the centennial of its monetary system's establishment, making it a dual-purpose historical document.
