The 20 Dirhams 2023 banknote celebrates Morocco's rich architectural and cultural heritage. The obverse features a portrait of King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan coat of arms, and architectural details inspired by traditional Moroccan portals alongside Al Quaraouiyine University in Fez — the world's oldest continuously functioning university. The reverse showcases symbols of Moroccan modernity including the Grand Theatre of Rabat, the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and a stylized view of the Kasbah of Ait-Ben-Haddou. Measuring 130 x 70 mm, the note was introduced on August 21, 2024.
