The N$200 note is the highest denomination in Namibia's current banknote series. Its dominant purple colour and dimensions of 152 x 70 mm were retained in the 2022 update, which introduced upgraded anti-counterfeiting technology. The note was officially launched at a ceremony in Windhoek in February 2023, with the date 2022 printed on the note. Kaptein Hendrik Witbooi (c. 1830–1905) was a Nama resistance leader against German colonial rule and remains one of Namibia's most revered historical figures, appearing on the N$50, N$100, and N$200 denominations.
