North Macedonia 2.000 Denari

Dated May 2022, the purple, orange, yellow, and green 2,000-denar note (152 x 70 mm) is the highest denomination in the Macedonian denar series and was signed by Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska. It interweaves two strands of national identity: the vibrant folk traditions of the Macedonian bride and the ancient archaeological heritage represented by the bronze poppy vessel. The reverse's gilded bowl with peacock ornamentation exemplifies the refined craftsmanship of the Ottoman-era Macedonian decorative arts. The 2022 update reflects the country's official rename to the Republic of North Macedonia.
