This multicolored green, yellow, and teal polymer 2 Kina note measures 125 x 70 mm. The obverse prominently features a stylized Bird of Paradise sitting atop a ceremonial spear, accompanied by a traditional Kundu drum. The national coat of arms and the National Parliament building in Port Moresby are also displayed. A solid security thread runs vertically over the bird's left wing, visible only under backlight. The reverse depicts Mount Hagan axes, a Kula armband from Milne Bay Province, an engraved dogtooth necklace from Bougainville, Sepik clay pottery, and traditional tapa cloth patterns.
