Part of Peru's newest family of banknotes, the 100 Soles note is dedicated to Pedro Paulet, a multidisciplinary Peruvian inventor and pioneer of astronautics. The reverse side carries a vertical orientation and depicts the endemic Colibrí Cola de Espátula (Marvelous Spatuletail) and Phragmipedium kovachii orchid. The note replaces an earlier design and entered circulation as part of a rolling series update across multiple denominations.
