Poland · Narodowy Bank Polski
Narodowy Bank Polski released a 20-złoty collector commemorative note (catalog BNP829a) on 5 November 2025, celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of the coronation of Bolesław I Chrobry. A circulation date-and-signature variant (B860c, dated 19 March 2025) was also confirmed. The collector note features a portrait bust of Bolesław resting on a sword hilt with an eagle-and-shield motif on the obverse. The reverse reproduces scenes from the famous Gniezno Doors: the ransom of St. Adalbert's body, its procession, and burial at Gniezno. A crown-shaped die-cut window is punched through the note. Limited to 70,000 pieces, it was named Best Commemorative Banknote of 2025 by the International Bank Note Society.
