The 100 Riyals note is part of Qatar's Fifth Banknote Series, entering circulation on 18 December 2020. The selection of the Abu Al-Qubaib Mosque for the reverse was made at the personal suggestion of HH Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, reflecting the mosque's deep historical significance as an architectural legacy of Qatar's founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani. The 2022-dated note continues the same design, bearing the signatures of Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani.
