The 200 Riyals note was introduced for the first time as a denomination in Qatar's Fifth Banknote Series, launched by the Qatar Central Bank on 13 December 2020 and entering circulation on 18 December 2020, Qatar National Day. The brown-on-multicolour note measures 161 x 73 mm and carries the signatures of Abdullah Saud Al-Thani and Ali Shareef Al-Emadi. The three reverse landmarks — Sheikh Abdullah's palace, the National Museum of Qatar, and the Museum of Islamic Art — were chosen to promote Qatar's art, cultural heritage, and creative vision for future generations. The 2022-dated printing continues this inaugural design.
