Part of Samoa's 2023 polymer banknote upgrade printed on De La Rue's SAFEGUARD substrate, the 10 Tala note honours Samoan rugby on its obverse by depicting the national sevens team's historic victory at the 2007 International Rugby Board Hong Kong Sevens tournament. The reverse shows Samoan schoolchildren, reflecting the country's investment in education and its youth. Eight tactile embossed dots on the note allow visually impaired users to identify the denomination.
