Issued by the Central Bank of Samoa and printed by De La Rue, this limited-edition legal tender note was released into circulation on 31 May 2023. The obverse displays the 60th-anniversary logo, the Samoan flag, the national coat of arms, and a portrait of Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa, the first female prime minister of Samoa. The reverse depicts former Prime Minister Fiame Mata'afa Faumuina Mulinuu II lowering the New Zealand flag at independence, a defining moment in Samoa's history.
