The Singapore 10 Dollars note from the Portrait Series features a sports theme celebrating physical recreation and athletic pursuits central to Singapore's national culture. The obverse displays the portrait of Yusof bin Ishak, Singapore's first president, with finely engraved details providing a high level of anti-counterfeiting protection. The reverse showcases five popular sports disciplines: jogging and tennis representing favored land sports, and sailing and swimming representing water sports, all illustrated with vibrant energy to convey the dynamic nature of sporting activities.

The note measures 141 mm x 69 mm and was first issued in polymer form on 4 May 2004, making it one of the first denominations in the series to transition to polymer materials. The polymer substrate provides greater durability and longevity compared to traditional paper banknotes, making it particularly suitable for the higher-circulation 10 Dollar denomination. The color is predominantly red, making it easily distinguishable in everyday transactions.

Security features include the lion head registration device visible from both sides of the note, a security thread shaped like the Singapore island map, and a watermark of Yusof bin Ishak. The note was designed by Eng Siak Loy and incorporates the Kinegram security hologram. During the commemorative first issue in 2004, 10,000 sets of the $10 polymer were issued with the overprint 'Commemorative First Issue by MAS' with the prefix MAS, marking a significant milestone in Singapore's currency modernization.
